Engine Maintenance Engineer (m/f/d) - fixed-term for 2 years (Engineer - Aerospace Engineering)
N3 Engine Overhaul Services (N3) is the European competence center for the maintenance and repair of Rolls-Royce Trent series engines. The joint venture of Lufthansa Technik AG and Rolls-Royce plc. is located on the outskirts of Arnstadt, in Thuringia's largest industrial area, "Erfurter Kreuz". More than 1000 employees service engines for 50 international airlines on behalf of Rolls-Royce.
Check-In / Your Tasks
- Holistic technical support of engine and component maintenance throughout the entire maintenance process
- Analyzing, evaluating, creating, and releasing work orders as well as work documents, taking into account aviation regulatory requirements, customer requirements, and cost targets (e.g., workscopes, task lists, etc.)
- Coordination of technical content with customers, suppliers, and internal specialist departments
- Support for production planning and production areas regarding technical questions as well as work instructions, technical planning, and improvement measures
- Introduction of new products, repairs, and engine models, including effort estimation, documentation, and implementation
- Checking, evaluating, and implementing technical changes as well as conducting and coordinating technical investigations
- Implementation and further development of work, process, and quality standards, considering relevant norms, OEM specifications, and aviation regulatory requirements
- Implementation of department-related process improvements and participation in cross-departmental projects
- Conducting technical training and briefings
Boarding / Your Profile
- Completed university degree in the field of Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline
- Several years of professional experience in a technical environment, ideally in aviation or engine overhaul; knowledge in work preparation or order creation is an advantage
- Sound technical knowledge in the field of turbofan engines and engine maintenance is desirable
- Strong analytical, structured, and goal-oriented way of working
- High quality awareness as well as understanding of aviation regulatory requirements, standards, and commercial contexts
- High customer orientation as well as strong communication and teamwork skills
- Assertiveness, initiative, and high commitment
- Very good SAP knowledge as well as good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Good to very good English skills in speaking and writing
