As part of the next stage of the school’s growth, we are seeking to appoint an exceptional Teacher of English to join our Secondary School from August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a high-performing English department within a school that is determined to establish itself amongst the leading British international schools in the region.
The successful candidate will be a well-qualified graduate in English or a closely related discipline, with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for literature and language. They will bring a proven track record of success in teaching the National Curriculum for England, including IGCSE, and ideally A Level, with clear evidence of securing strong examination outcomes.
We are looking for a teacher who combines intellectual rigour with clarity of instruction; who can inspire a love of reading, writing and critical thought; and who understands the importance of precise language modelling in an international context. The ability to teach students for whom English is an additional language, without compromising academic standards, is essential.
The role will include:
Teaching English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3–5
Delivering well-structured, engaging and challenging lessons characterised by high expectations and strong subject knowledge
Using assessment intelligently to drive progress and secure excellent outcomes at IGCSE and A Level
Contributing to the development of schemes of work and departmental practice aligned with best UK standards
Playing a full part in the co-curricular life of the school
We are seeking a colleague who:
Holds a degree in English or a closely related field, with QTS or equivalent
Has substantial experience teaching the UK curriculum, with a strong record at IGCSE; A Level experience is highly desirable
Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a deep understanding of examination requirements
Possesses native-level fluency in English, with the ability to model articulate, scholarly communication
Has high expectations of students and a commitment to academic excellence
Brings professionalism, presence and a collaborative mindset to a growing and ambitious team
