Biology Teacher
About the role
Muscat International School by Amity is at an exciting stage in its development. As the school continues to grow, we are seeking to appoint a further teacher of biology who is keen to be part of a forward-looking team, committed to high standards, and motivated by the opportunity to develop their practice and take on wider responsibility over time.
Opportunities for additional responsibility are available for the right candidate, both at appointment and as the school continues to expand.
The successful candidate will teach biology across Key Stages 3, IGCSE and A Level, contributing to strong academic outcomes and a positive, engaging learning environment.
Key responsibilities
Deliver engaging and effective biology lessons across KS3, IGCSE and A Level
Plan and teach lessons that support strong progress and high levels of student engagement
Use assessment and data to inform teaching and provide targeted support
Contribute to the development of a coherent and challenging science curriculum
Support students in developing scientific thinking, practical skills, and examination confidence
Participate in the wider life of the school, including enrichment and co-curricular activities
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a culture of continuous improvement
The ideal candidate will have
A degree in biology or a closely related field
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS or equivalent)
Experience teaching biology at IGCSE and/or A Level
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education
The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and professional conduct
Early career teachers with strong potential are welcome to apply, as are more experienced teachers seeking further responsibility.
