R&D Design Engineer in Industry (M/F)
Your tasks
As part of your activities, you will be required to:
- Define, develop, qualify, and industrialize Front-End processes (design rules, deposition, etching, characterization, reliability) necessary for product realization.
- Prepare and present milestone reviews related to Front-End technological developments.
- Write technical documentation (R&D reports, specifications, transfer files to production or industrial partners), ensuring the interpretation and publication of results.
- Integrate Design For Manufacturing principles and an eco-design approach into the proposed solutions.
- Propose feasibility studies and design of experiments (DOE) regarding new materials, architectures, or technological solutions, in collaboration with the various teams of the Technical Department and internal and external partners.
- Participate in the definition and implementation of the physical and electrical characterization of products.
- Contribute to the consolidation of the R&D roadmap.
- Develop, with the reliability engineer, process qualification plans.
- Support industrialization phases by analyzing process drifts (yields, quality defects, non-conformities) and proposing corrective and preventive actions within a continuous improvement approach.
- Participate in technological monitoring in the field of microelectronic manufacturing processes on silicon.
- Provide creative, innovative solutions and contribute to the development of intellectual property.
Requirements
A graduate of an engineering school or holder of a Master 2 in microelectronics, materials science, or a related field, you have at least 5 years of experience in an R&D or industrialization environment for semiconductor Front-End processes on silicon substrates.
You possess solid knowledge of microelectronic manufacturing processes such as deposition, etching, or photolithography, as well as physical and electrical characterization methods (ellipsometry, SEM, TDDB, etc.).
Experience or skills in the following areas are an asset:
- Semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Physical characterization of materials.
- Experimental tools: DOE, failure analysis, physical inspection, reliability testing.
- Data analysis, statistics, and SPC.
- Quality methodologies: FMEA, 8D, DMAIC.
Recognized for your scientific rigor, analytical spirit, and writing skills, you enjoy teamwork and multidisciplinary project environments. Curious and autonomous, you like to advance topics through a logic of innovation and performance.
A fluent level of English, both written and spoken, is necessary to operate in an international environment.
