As Director for Programs & Execution, you’ll lead delivery when a software initiative spans several engineering teams. You’ll work day to day with engineering managers and technical leads, from defining the scope through production rollout. A program might involve connecting a customer’s HR system to our payroll platform or planning a service migration around payroll cut-offs.

What you’ll own

Lead quarterly planning for engineering programs. Work with Engineering and Product leaders to decide what to deliver, what to defer and how much capacity to reserve for platform and reliability work.

Build delivery plans with the engineers doing the work. Identify dependencies across services, agree who owns each milestone and sequence the work before committing to a release date.

Resolve issues that span teams. When an API change or a migration blocks another team, bring the engineering owners together. If a decision needs senior input, explain the options and recommend a way forward.

Coordinate readiness for critical releases. Agree with technical leads on the testing, security checks, monitoring and rollback plan needed to protect customers during rollout.

Give engineering leaders a clear view of delivery dates and risks across programs. Coach program leads and use release data and team retrospectives to address recurring delays or quality issues.

Skills Required:

A track record in technical program management or engineering delivery, leading complex software programs across multiple engineering teams in a SaaS or product company.

The technical depth to follow an architecture discussion, challenge a delivery assumption and understand how a change to an API, data model or shared service affects other teams.

Experience working with senior engineers and engineering managers across locations.

Experience in payroll, payments, HR technology or another business where data accuracy and fixed deadlines matter would be an advantage.
