Infant Educator
About the company
Mulberry Learning @ Clarke Quay is a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool and infant care centre at The Riverwalk, 20 Upper Circular Road. We care for children from 2 months to 6 years through a bilingual English and Mandarin programme. We see every child as capable, curious and full of potential, and we build learning around their questions, their play and the environment as the "third teacher". We are looking for educators who listen closely to children, document their thinking, and partner warmly with families.
Your tasks
The Infant Care Teacher provides responsive, nurturing care and learning experiences for infants aged 2 to 18 months, building secure attachments with each baby and close partnerships with their families.
- Plan and carry out daily care routines (feeding, nappy changing, sleep and rest) with warmth, patience and respect for each infant's own rhythm.
- Design sensory-rich, play-based experiences that support early development in movement, language, social-emotional and cognitive areas, in line with the Reggio Emilia approach.
- Set up and maintain a safe, clean, calm and stimulating infant environment, indoors and outdoors.
- Observe and document each infant's milestones and interests through photos, anecdotal notes and learning stories, and keep developmental portfolios up to date.
- Keep accurate daily records of feeding, sleep, nappy changes and health observations, and share them with parents through the parent app.
- Build trusting relationships with families, supporting settling-in and holding regular updates and parent-teacher conferences.
- Follow ECDA licensing requirements and centre policies on hygiene, health, safety and child protection, and render basic first aid when needed.
- Handle breast milk, formula and food safely, including allergy and dietary requirements.
- Work as a team with fellow educators, attend staff meetings and professional development, and take on other duties assigned by the Principal.
Requirements
- ECDA-recognised infant care qualification, such as a Higher Certificate in Infant Care or ACEY
- At least 1 year of experience in an infant care setting preferred.
- Valid First Aid certificate recognised by ECDA.
- Warm, patient and observant, with a genuine love for babies.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Interest in the Reggio Emilia approach, or willingness to learn.
