Operation Engineer Candidate (Trainee Program)

This position is a development program aimed at individuals who wish to build a long-term career in the fields of manufacturing and operation engineering. As a manufacturing operations trainee, you will become a member of the production team and gain experience in tasks such as manufacturing, evaluation testing, and quality control. During the program period, you will grow while receiving educational support and mentoring, including advice on learning content and the provision of teaching materials, to acquire the technical skills required of an operation engineer. The program is scheduled for 12 months and includes the following:

• Learning support tailored to individual skill gaps (providing teaching materials, online courses, and other learning resources)
• Weekly check-ins and mentoring with experienced engineers
• Practical experience through manufacturing and evaluation tasks
• Evaluations at the 6-month and 12-month marks

Those who pass the final evaluation at the 12-month mark will be appointed as full-time employees and take on new roles as operation engineers. After becoming a full-time employee, it is expected that you will step up in terms of both assigned duties and compensation.

About the Position While being involved in manufacturing tasks, you will contribute to efforts to deliver high-quality products to customers. By collaborating with engineers, suppliers, and production partners, you can gain practical experience in manufacturing operations, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving. This is a position where you can be involved in a wide range of tasks, such as quality control, production processes, hardware failure analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

Job Description

• Creation and improvement of work instruction manuals in the production process
• Safety management and maintenance of tools and equipment
• Hardware failure investigation of returned products
• Quality confirmation through testing and inspection of finished products
• Solving manufacturing challenges in collaboration with design engineers and suppliers
• Promotion of 5S activities and improvement of existing processes
• Deployment of manufacturing processes to external contractors and support for production planning
• Inventory management of raw materials, finished products, and non-conforming products
• Support for the development of manual and automatic tools to improve testing and manufacturing efficiency
• Support for product evaluation tasks, conducting tests, and recording results
• Management and maintenance of lab equipment and supplies

Required Skills

• Individuals who have majored in related fields such as electrical/electronic engineering or information engineering
• Individuals with a strong interest in manufacturing, hardware, and operation engineering
• Individuals who have no resistance to hands-on work using electrical, mechanical, or testing equipment
• Individuals who can use general measuring instruments such as oscilloscopes and multimeters

Preferred Conditions

• Experience in manufacturing sites
• Experience in evaluation testing or lab work
• Experience in PCB assembly or evaluation
• Experience in troubleshooting hardware products or electromechanical systems

Language Requirements

• Business-level English, OR
• Business-level Japanese and English reading/writing ability

Work Authorization

• Individuals residing in Japan at the time of application
• If you do not possess the necessary status of residence for full-time employment, you must meet the requirements for obtaining a Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
