Manufacturing Operations Engineer (Production Management / Quality Control)

As a member of the Hardware Systems Team, the Senior Manufacturing Operations Engineer will be responsible for improving the manufacturing and operational quality of Mujin-made controllers and pendants. Through collaboration with suppliers, management of production activities, implementation of quality systems, and management of inventory and process documentation, you will achieve rapid production cycles and high-quality product delivery. Additionally, this position will serve as a technical liaison with the Mujin Japan, Mujin US, and Mujin Europe global teams, providing technical support for products deployed to internal teams. You will troubleshoot issues reported after product shipment and drive continuous improvement of manufacturing and field support processes while coordinating cross-functional responses. Main Responsibilities Production Planning and Execution Formulating and managing production schedules to ensure timely supply and testing of hardware. Maintaining high quality and meeting deadlines.

Process Development and Training Creating and continuously improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Supporting the implementation of safe and consistent manufacturing operations through operator training and support.

Inventory and Material Management Preventing production interruptions through raw material procurement and inventory management.

Manufacturing Problem Solving Identifying and resolving issues in the manufacturing process, classifying deviations, and making rework decisions to minimize production downtime.

Internal Technical Support (Shipped Products) Performing troubleshooting for technical issues regarding products deployed to internal customers such as Mujin US and Mujin Europe. Acting as the technical contact for inquiries regarding product defects or failures.

Job Description Process Development & Education

• Creation and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Providing education and support to operators to ensure manufacturing operations are performed safely and stably

Inventory & Material Management

• Performing raw material procurement and inventory management to ensure stable and continuous production

Response to Manufacturing Challenges

• Investigation and resolution of issues occurring in the manufacturing process
• Determining non-conforming products and process abnormalities, making rework decisions, and driving the minimization of production downtime

Internal Technical Support after Product Deployment

• Investigation of defects and problem-solving for products deployed to internal users such as Mujin US and Mujin Europe
• Acting as the technical contact for defects and quality issues occurring after product introduction

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Practical experience related to embedded products (ECU, audio equipment, etc.)
• Basic knowledge and usage experience of Linux
• Fundamental knowledge of electronic circuits and electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing site
• Experience in evaluation testing or laboratory work
• Experience in PCB assembly or evaluation
• Experience in troubleshooting hardware products or electromechanical systems

Language Requirements

• Business-level English, OR
• Business-level Japanese and reading/writing ability in English
