The Job You’ll Do:
- Maintain, develop and continually improve the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001:2015
- Plan and manage the internal audit programme and coordinate external certification and customer audits
- Manage NCRs from investigation and root cause analysis through corrective action, close-out and verification of effectiveness
- Manage and support customer quality complaints and product investigations, coordinating root cause analysis, technical input and formal responses where required.
- Work closely with Engineering and Project teams to ensure effective design, document control, inspection, testing, certification and project-specific quality requirements are implemented and maintained.
- Maintain effective supplier approval, monitoring and supplier quality processes, including supplier NCRs and audits where required
- Work with Procurement and Engineering to define appropriate verification and traceability requirements for components and outsourced processes
- Maintain H&S arrangements including risk assessments, COSHH, safe systems of work, workplace inspections, toolbox talks and incident / near-miss investigation
- Ensure applicable UK Health & Safety and environmental requirements are understood and effectively implemented across the business
- Monitor environmental controls including waste, chemicals, oils and other controlled materials, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Develop and report relevant QHSE KPIs to Senior Management and ensure agreed actions are progressed to completion
- Promote a practical culture of quality, safety, accountability and continuous improvement throughout the business
About You:
- 5+ years’ experience in QHSE or similar management role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and experience maintaining a certified Quality Management System
- Experience planning and conducting internal audits and supporting external/customer audits
- Practical experience investigating non-conformances, completing root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions
- Good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety requirements
- Experience of supplier quality, inspection, traceability, certification and document control
- Strong written communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Confident working with personnel at all levels, from the shop floor through to customers, auditors and Senior Management
- Ability to challenge existing practices constructively and follow actions through to effective completion
- Recognised Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent),
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
