The LC Controller is responsible for managing, administering, and monitoring all Letter of Credit transactions. This role ensures compliance with international trade regulations, banking requirements, and internal policies. The position requires close coordination with suppliers, customers, banks, and internal departments to ensure smooth trade finance operations.

Review and verify all incoming and outgoing Letters of Credit for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with UCP 600, ISBP, and other trade finance rules. Prepare and submit LC applications to banks in line with contractual and business requirements. Monitor the lifecycle of each LC, ensuring timely amendments, document presentations, and settlements. Liaise with internal stakeholders (finance, procurement, logistics, and sales teams) to align LC requirements with business operations. Resolve discrepancies in LC documentation in collaboration with banks and counterparties. Maintain accurate records of all LC transactions for audit and reporting purposes. Generate periodic reports on LC exposure, utilization, and outstanding obligations. Ensure adherence to compliance standards, including anti-money laundering (AML) and trade sanctions regulations. Support treasury and finance teams with cash flow forecasting related to LC transactions. Assist in process improvements and system enhancements for trade finance operations.

Experience and Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferable. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in trade finance, banking, or corporate treasury with exposure to Letters of Credit. Strong knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms, and international trade practices. Proficiency in SAP (or other ERP systems) and trade finance modules preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
