Are you an experienced NIHL or Industrial Disease Fee Earner looking for your next opportunity?

We're working with a growing specialist law firm in Blackburn that is looking to strengthen its Industrial Disease team with an experienced legal professional who can take ownership of their own caseload and confidently manage claims through to settlement and, where required, litigation.

The Role

As an NIHL Fee Earner , you'll manage a caseload of claimant industrial disease matters, with a particular focus on Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) claims.

You'll have responsibility for progressing your own files from initial instruction through to settlement or litigation, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, strategically and to a high standard.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Managing a caseload of claimant industrial disease claims, including NIHL, from instruction through to settlement or litigation.
• Taking ownership of both pre-litigated and litigated matters, including key deadlines and case strategy.
• Assessing liability and quantum using medical, audiological, employment and witness evidence.
• Drafting legal correspondence, pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss and court documentation.
• Liaising confidently with clients, defendants, insurers, medical experts, counsel and other third parties.
• Negotiating settlements and working towards achieving strong outcomes for clients.
• Ensuring claims are progressed in accordance with the CPR and relevant Pre-Action Protocols.
• Maintaining accurate case records and providing clear, regular updates to clients.
• Delivering a consistently high standard of client care throughout the claims process.

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident managing their own caseload and has genuine experience in claimant industrial disease litigation .

You'll ideally have:

• Experience handling claimant industrial disease claims, particularly NIHL .
• Proven litigation experience, with the ability to independently manage litigated claims.
• Experience progressing claims from inception through to settlement or conclusion.
• Confidence reviewing and interpreting medical and audiological evidence.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent organisation and time-management abilities.
