Job Description

Theory meets practice. And you are right in the middle of it. Do you love it when people feel welcome – and at the same time want to study, work in a hotel, and take on responsibility? Then a dual study program in Hotel Management is exactly right for you: You combine university knowledge with real hotel industry practice and become a professional in hotel operations step by step.

Practical Phase

In the practical phases, you are not "just there," but "right in the middle of it." You will get to know various areas in the hotel and understand how everything comes together:

• Front Office & Reservation: Check-in, guest communication, service quality
• Breakfast & Bar: Processes, standards, organization in service
• Housekeeping & Quality Checks: Cleanliness & cooperation with external partners
• Revenue & Sales: Pricing, customer acquisition
• Backoffice & Administration: Purchasing, figures & reports

With us, you don't just learn theory – you apply it directly. From day one, you are part of the team and take responsibility for your tasks and own projects. Additionally, you can complete a four-week internship abroad in one of our hotels throughout Europe.

Theoretical Phase

In the study phases, you build the foundation for a career in the hotel industry – typical content includes, e.g.: Fundamentals of BWL, accounting, tourism marketing, market research, personnel management, or also IT & KI in the hotel industry. The lectures with ISM professors take place exclusively at the modern Motel One Campus in Munich:

• Internationally renowned and state-recognized degree Bachelor of Arts in Hotelmanagement (currently in the accreditation process)
• Duration of study: 7 semesters
• Internal Motel One class with approx. 25 students
• Approx. 6 weeks of theory/exam phases per semester in Munich
• Quiet learning atmosphere, intensive support, and personal exchange

Qualifications

What you bring with you: Most importantly to us: Your enthusiasm for the hotel industry!

• General higher education entrance qualification / Fachhochschulreife or a completed vocational training with at least three years of relevant professional experience or a master craftsman certificate (Meisterbrief) or advanced training (e.g., as an IHK-Fachwirt*in or Betriebswirt*in)
• Very good English skills in speaking and writing
• High degree of flexibility, teamwork, and resilience
• Positive appearance, commitment, and joy in contact with guests
• Initial experience in the hotel industry or the willingness to do a pre-internship at Motel One
• Willingness to travel for the theory phases to Munich

What we offer you:

Study + pocket money: we cover the tuition fees of the ISM, as well as the travel and accommodation costs in Munich. In addition to the pocket money (1st year: 500 Euro, 2nd year: 600 Euro, from 3rd year: 700 Euro), you will also participate in the internal bonus system and can look forward to diverse benefits.
