Legal Disrepair Surveyor

Job Title: Legal Disrepair and Damp & Mould Surveyor About the Role: Are you passionate about ensuring high housing standards and making a real difference in people's lives? We are seeking a skilled and professional Legal Disrepair and Damp & Mould Surveyor to join our team. In this role, you will provide specialist expertise to address legal disrepair claims and manage damp and mould cases, ensuring compliance with legislation and delivering high-quality housing services. Key Responsibilities: Investigate and assess properties in relation to disrepair claims under relevant housing legislation. Diagnose damp and mould issues, including condensation, penetrative damp, rising damp, and construction-related concerns. Prepare detailed inspection reports, work schedules, and photographic evidence for legal matters. Represent the organization as an expert witness in court or tribunal proceedings. Collaborate with legal teams, contractors, and tenants to resolve issues effectively. Ensure compliance with Awaab's Law and other housing regulations. Develop and implement preventative strategies to address damp and mould across the housing stock. Provide training and guidance to internal teams and stakeholders on disrepair and damp-related issues. About You: The ideal candidate will be well-organized, professional, and passionate about ensuring high housing standards. You will have a keen eye for detail, extensive technical expertise, legal awareness, and strong communication skills. Qualifications and Experience: HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related field. Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving legal disrepair claims and damp/mould issues in residential properties. Comprehensive knowledge of housing legislation, including the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018. Strong diagnostic skills in identifying building defects and their causes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing. Proficiency in housing management systems and MS Office Suite. Why Join Us?
