Senior Head Chef
About the company
A busy kitchen, a freshly refurbished restaurant and the chance to put your own stamp on the menu… without working evenings.
I'm working with an established, independent garden centre looking for a Senior Head Chef to lead its kitchen and continue developing its food offering.
This family-run, independent garden centre has a well-established restaurant that plays an important part in the overall customer experience. Following a recent refurbishment, they're continuing to develop their food offering, with fresh meals made to order and a focus on introducing new menu ideas.
The restaurant attracts customers throughout the day, creating a varied and busy working environment. They're now looking for a Senior Head Chef who can build on the recent improvements, bring creativity to the menu and lead the kitchen team in delivering a consistent, high-quality food offering.

As Senior Head Chef, you'll take the lead in the kitchen, balancing the creative side of the job with the day-to-day running of a busy operation.

Requirements
You'll be an experienced chef who enjoys being involved in both the food and the running of a kitchen. You'll have the confidence to lead a team, the creativity to develop a menu and the organisational skills to keep everything ticking along in a fast-paced environment.
You'll ideally have
- Previous experience in a Head Chef, Senior Head Chef or similar kitchen management role.
- A strong background in fresh food cooked to order.
- Experience developing menus and maintaining high food standards.
- Good commercial awareness, including food costing, budgets and P&L.
- Experience managing rotas, stock control and ordering.
- The ability to lead a team and maintain standards during busy service.
