Your tasks
- Guest Greeting & Seating
Welcome all arriving guests warmly, professionally, and with a friendly demeanor. Inquire about reservation details or guide walk-in guests regarding table availability. Manage the waiting list during peak hours and provide accurate wait-time estimates. Escort guests to their assigned tables, present menus, and introduce the designated server.
- Reservation & Table Management
Answer telephone calls and record online/in-person table reservations accurately. Maintain a balanced seating chart to optimize dining room capacity and prevent server overload. Track real-time table statuses (occupied, open, or needing cleanup) across the dining area. Accommodate special guest requests, such as VIP arrangements, high chairs, or celebration setups.
- Communication & Service Support
Provide clear information regarding operating hours, menu items, daily specials, and venue amenities. Maintain active communication with shift supervisors, servers, and kitchen staff regarding floor flow and guest arrivals. Address initial guest inquiries or concerns promptly and escalate complex complaints to the Restaurant Manager. Offer a warm farewell and express gratitude as guests depart the restaurant.
- Host Station & Area Upkeep
Keep the entrance way, host stand, and foyer area clean, organized, and presentable at all times. Maintain an adequate supply of clean menus, promotional materials, and essential host station stationery.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent; formal education/training in Hospitality, Tourism, or Food & Beverage Management is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a hostess, greeter, receptionist, or customer service role within the F&B or hospitality industry. Language Skills: Fluent, professional, and clear spoken communication in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus for international guest interactions. Core Competencies: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient under pressure during busy service shifts. Appearance & Professionalism: Neat, polished appearance adhering to restaurant grooming and dress code standards. Welcoming, proactive, and service-oriented demeanor. Working Conditions Shift-based schedule, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Requires physical stamina to stand, walk, and move comfortably throughout long service hours.
