Job Description

We are looking for a responsible and hands-on Site Supervisor to oversee renovation and interior fit-out works across residential and commercial projects.

The Site Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating site activities, supervising subcontractors and workers, monitoring workmanship, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and keeping projects on schedule.

This role requires someone who can identify problems early, coordinate different trades effectively and provide clear updates to the Project Manager and Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily site activities and ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications and schedules
• Coordinate subcontractors, workers, suppliers and deliveries on site
• Monitor progress and ensure each trade completes work according to the required sequence
• Check workmanship and identify defects or incomplete works
• Ensure rectification works are followed up and completed properly
• Conduct site measurements and verify dimensions where required
• Coordinate works involving demolition, masonry, tiling, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, ceiling, painting and other trades
• Ensure contractors understand the latest drawings and approved changes
• Report site issues, delays, discrepancies or potential problems promptly
• Provide regular site progress updates, photographs and reports to Management
• Assist with project handover and defect inspections
• Maintain proper site housekeeping and ensure work areas are kept organised
• Monitor materials delivered to site and report shortages, damages or incorrect items
• Ensure completed works are protected from damage by subsequent trades
• Attend site meetings where required
• Coordinate access arrangements with homeowners, building management, MCST or relevant parties where necessary
• Ensure site activities comply with applicable safety requirements and building regulations
• Carry out other reasonable site-related duties assigned by Management

Site Coordination Responsibilities

The Site Supervisor is expected to understand the sequence of renovation works and coordinate trades accordingly.

You should be able to identify situations such as:

• Electrical or plumbing points conflicting with carpentry
• Incorrect dimensions before fabrication
• Ceiling works affecting lighting positions
• Tiling levels affecting carpentry or doors
• Incomplete preparation before the next trade arrives
• Materials or fittings arriving at the wrong stage
• Defects that could become more difficult to rectify later

The objective is to solve issues before they become costly problems .

Accountability

The Site Supervisor is expected to take ownership of the site under his or her supervision.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring scheduled works are actually carried out
• Following up on subcontractors instead of waiting for them to respond
• Keeping Management informed of progress and problems
• Checking completed works rather than assuming they are correct
• Highlighting delays early and proposing practical recovery actions
• Ensuring instructions and rectification items are properly closed

Requirements

• Experience in renovation, interior fit-out, construction or site supervision preferred
• Good understanding of renovation work sequencing and site coordination
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, tiling, ceiling and general interior works
• Able to read floor plans and basic construction drawings
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Responsible, organised and able to work independently
• Able to manage subcontractors and workers firmly but professionally
• Able to travel between project sites
• Basic computer and smartphone skills for reports, photographs and updates
• Valid driving licence will be an advantage
• Relevant technical qualification in construction, building, facilities or related discipline will be an advantage
