Do you want to become part of a lively and authentic Japanese kitchen in the heart of Stockholm?

Waku Waku Izakaya is a Japanese bar and restaurant with a relaxed and energetic atmosphere. We serve Japanese small plates in tapas style (izakaya) along with a carefully selected beverage selection. Now we are looking for a star for the kitchen who wants to take responsibility and contribute to our team during both lunch and evening shifts.

About the position

We are looking for you who want to work at a high pace and who is driven by delivering high quality and precision in every serving. With us, the work is about mastering our established recipes and ensuring that every dish that leaves the kitchen maintains our high standard.

The work varies between lunch and evening:

Lunch shifts: The focus is on preparation (prepp) as well as heating and finishing the food before lunch. The plating of the food is handled by the staff in the dining room. Evening shifts: The focus is on the preparation and plating of our izakaya dishes during ongoing service.

Your main responsibilities:

Prepp, preparation, and plating of food according to our established menus. Inventory and ordering of raw materials. Maintaining order, hygiene, and routines in the kitchen. Active work with dishwashing and cleaning during and after the end of the work shift.

Since we are a smaller operation, one often works as 1–2 people in the kitchen, which means you need to be able to work independently, structured, and efficiently.

We are looking for you who:

Have 2–5 years of experience in professional cooking (note: previous dishwashing jobs do not count as kitchen experience). Are organized, reliable, and enjoy taking responsibility for the entire kitchen process. Have a genuine interest in cooking and quality. Are a pronounced team player who collaborates well with colleagues. Speak at least English fluently. Swedish is a merit but not a requirement.

Working hours and conditions

Scope: Full-time / Part-time, approx. 36–40 hours/week.

Schedule:
