Deal Manager / Financial Architect (Specialist Consultant - Financial Services)
Role Overview
The Financial Architect is responsible for the conception, structuring, and management of economically viable, competitive, and profitable deals across Mitel's entire Direct Unified Communications (UC) business. Acting as a link between Sales, Legal, Finance, and customers, this position ensures that pricing models, financial frameworks, bidding strategies, and contract structures align with customer requirements, internal business policies, and the company's risk management standards.
As Mitel operates as a system integrator, the Financial Architect, together with a team, creates compelling customer proposals that integrate Mitel solutions with third-party products and services, while simultaneously ensuring commercial discipline and deal governance throughout the entire bidding cycle.
Main Tasks
- Financial and commercial leadership of Sales during relevant tenders/proposals.
- Development of innovative and economically sound pricing strategies and financial models that balance customer value, competitiveness, and margin performance.
- Leading scenario modeling, including cost-plus, TCO, and margin sensitivity analyses.
- Leading commercial discussions during customer negotiations, handling objections, and negotiating final prices and contract terms (such as liabilities, payment terms, commercial timelines).
- Ensuring that contract structures align with business strategy, revenue recognition rules, and internal approval thresholds.
- Collaborating with Bid Management, Sales, PreSales, Services, Legal, Procurement, and Finance to resolve issues, obtain approvals, and ensure alignment on complex deals.
- Assessing financial, commercial, and contractual risks and initiating appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Driving the approval and governance process for pricing, terms, and configurations.
- Presenting projects and introducing concise commercial proposal components to Executive Management / Board of Directors.
- Preparation, support, and implementation of management decisions regarding pricing and trading policy.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong skills in financial modeling and analysis.
- Experience in the commercial structuring of complex technology, UC, or integration solutions.
- Ability to review and negotiate business terms and contracts.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, as well as agile decision-making and problem-solving orientation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Very good written and spoken English skills.
