Construction Site Safety Officer

We are looking for a skilled Safety Officer to join our team!

Work format: On-site (Project Office, Construction Site)

Responsibilities:

Implement HSE policy, HSE plan, HSE legislation, and other requirements; monitor HSE performance and HSE targets; suggest measures for further improvement.

Liaise with Safety Manager and contractors for the improvement and implementation of corporate HSE management ethics.

Monitor contractors to ensure the implementation of applicable safety measures and best practices.

Review and monitor contractors' monthly HSE inspections and reports.

Conduct monthly safety meetings, set targets to address outstanding issues, and prepare and submit the minutes to all concerned for follow-up.

Review emergency preparedness and response, permit to work system, HSE meetings, HSE statistics, and records of the contractors according to company requirements.

Review incident and accident investigation reports from contractors, report and communicate learning points, and monitor immediate and follow-up actions to minimize or prevent re-occurrence.

Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

Minimum diploma or B.Sc. or equivalent degree in environmental/loss prevention or any relevant engineering disciplines from an accredited university.

Recognized health and safety education, SARS card (training in UAE will be a plus), or NEBOSH/IOSH certificates.

Trakhees card holder or desire to obtain it.

At least 3+ years of construction supervision experience working as a Safety Officer.

Recent experience in construction supervision.

Preferably with experience in the UAE; having a driving license is an advantage.
