Credit Officer
Responsibilities:
Prospect for and acquire new loan and savings clients within assigned markets. Receive and conduct a preliminary assessment of loan applications. Visit and verify clients’ businesses and residential addresses, as required. Assess clients’ businesses, cash flows, working capital, repayment capacity and creditworthiness. Verify guarantors and other information/documentation provided by applicants. Recommend appropriate loan amounts, tenors and repayment structures based on appraisal findings. Ensure that loans are properly documented and meet approved credit requirements before disbursement. Monitor clients after disbursement to ensure proper utilisation of loan proceeds. Follow up repayments proactively and take immediate action on missed or delayed instalments. Maintain a healthy portfolio and minimise Portfolio at Risk (PAR), delinquency and defaults. Mobilise deposits/savings and achieve assigned loan, client-acquisition and deposit targets. Maintain regular contact with clients and promote client retention and repeat business. Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly and monthly performance reports. Escalate emerging credit risks, suspected diversion, fraud or other irregularities promptly. Participate actively in recovery efforts for delinquent and defaulting accounts. Maintain confidentiality, integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct in dealing with clients. Perform other credit, marketing and operational duties assigned by the Business Manager or Management.
Requirements:
Minimum qualification of SSCE 1 year of previous experience in a similar role
