Hi! I am a happy and active boy aged 9 who lives in Nodeland with my mom, dad, and siblings. I like to do various activities such as listening to music, singing, running, and jumping on the trampoline. I especially love playing and being active, so it would be great fun if we could do this together.
I have autism and therefore need safe and caring adults who can provide me with extra follow-up in everyday life. I have limited speech and make myself understood with simple words and signs. At home, we speak both Norwegian and English, so it is an advantage if you can communicate somewhat in English, but it is not a requirement.
As my assistant, your tasks will involve helping and motivating me to play, participating in various activities, helping me with personal care, but most importantly: being my playmate. Could this be something for you?
Positions and working hours:
I am now seeking a permanent employee assistant who wants to work an average of 10 hours per week. There are 10 hours per week available now.
The working hours on weekdays and weekends look like this:
- Monday–Friday 16.00–19.00 and weekends 12.00–19.00.
During holidays, there will be slightly different working hours based on need.
We call for interviews continuously and hire as soon as we find the right candidate.
In addition, I have a need for on-call substitutes who can step in as needed for holidays and illness.
Tasks:
- Participate in activities with or without the family
- Help in meal situations
- Play with me
- Help take initiative for play and motivate activity
- Some practical assistance in the home
- Personal care
- Help with dressing and undressing
Qualifications:
- Driver's license class B. Having your own car is an advantage.
- It is an advantage if you have experience with autism
- Valid police certificate (not older than three months)
- Personal suitability and chemistry are emphasized
- Must speak and understand English
Personal qualities:
- takes initiative for play
- is patient and secure
- can set boundaries and create predictability
- has experience with or understanding of children with autism and how they express themselves.
