Senior Business Analyst Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Analyst - Hospital Information Systems (HIS) to join our product team. In this role, you will serve as the crucial link between clinical operations, product management, and software engineering teams. You will be responsible for translating complex hospital workflows, regulatory requirements, and clinical needs into clear, scalable product specifications for our enterprise healthcare software suite.
Key Responsibilities Workflow Optimization: Design and map end-to-end using diagrams (covering Outpatient/Inpatient management, Emergency, Pharmacy dispensing, Laboratory, and Billing/TPA cycles).
- Requirements Elicitation & Documentation: Conduct discovery sessions different hospitals department stakeholders and end users to gather, analyze, and document comprehensive Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specification Documents (FSDs).
Product Translation: Translate business needs into detailed Epics, User Stories, and precise Acceptance Criteria for agile engineering teams. Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Interoperability & Data Standards: Define integration requirements for connecting HIS modules with external systems (RIS/PACS, Laboratory Information Systems, billing gateways, and national health platforms) using standard healthcare protocols.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary subject matter expert liaison during implementations, resolving workflow discrepancies, addressing operational change management challenges, and providing training support.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Domain Expertise
Core HIS Modules: Deep, hands-on understanding of hospital operations including Patient Administration (ADT), Outpatient/Inpatient Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR), Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), Pharmacy, and Laboratory workflows.
Healthcare Standards: Solid familiarity with health data standards such as HL7 v2.x, FHIR, DICOM , and medical coding systems ( ICD-10, CPT, LOINC ).
Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of healthcare regulations, data privacy laws and clinical documentation standards (e.g., GAHAR, JCI accreditation requirements).
- Technical & Analytical Competencies
Process Modeling: Proficiency in Business Process Model tool (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, drow.io ) to map complex multi-departmental pathways.
Agile Product Methodologies: Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments using tools.

Clinical Communication: Exceptional ability to speak the "language" of both medical professionals (doctors, nurses, hospital directors) and technical engineers.
Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills to identify operational bottlenecks and design streamlined software alternatives.
Documentation Accuracy: give attention to details in writing precise user stories, test cases, and release notes.
Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a clinical background (Nursing, Medicine, or Pharmacy) combined with IT experience.
Experience: 3+ years of business analysis or product ownership experience specifically within the Healthcare IT sector , focusing on enterprise HIS, ERP, or clinical software implementations.
