Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist

About the Position: This position is located at the 59th Medical Wing - Joint Base San Antonio - Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center; Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Major duties

• Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
• Develop, modify, and/or interpret performance standards
• Explain performance expectations to employees and provide regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
• Plan and coordinate all work requirements and complex projects to maintain patient care buildings
• Oversee multiple facility management resources including personnel, major service contracts, financial programs, continuous space utilization, information services, and design/layout of facilities/structures.
• Implement and evaluate programs to manage medical safety risks, fire safety risks, facility response to emergencies, and to manage risks associated with physical security, hazardous materials, and medical waste.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) recommending action for identified maintenance or repair issues; 2) reviewing contract proposals for selection; AND 3) inspecting facilities or grounds to identify maintenance or repair requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
