Nursing Aide

About the Position: This position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Major duties

• Transport, deliver, and pick-up patients, specimens, and equipment.
• Transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, and by walking ambulatory patients to receive procedures, tests, or x-ray.
• Assist in lifting, turning, or repositioning patients.
• Perform administrative errands.
• Responsible to perform preventative maintenance checks on hospital beds, wheelchairs, walking aids prior to use for transport and for correct use of monitoring oxygen and IV delivery systems.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General Experience: Three months of general experience (1) in any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with nursing care, such as performing work in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other medical, nursing, or patient care facility. OR Education: High school graduation (or equivalent) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 3. Then, divide your total credit hours of high school education by the total number of credit hours required for graduation as set by your high school. Add the two percentages.
