About the Position: This position is located at Lyster Army Health Clinic, Fort Rucker, Alabama. The work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 0730-1630 with on call status. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Major duties

  • Plan and administer all aspects of the Early Intervention Services program, including managing resources, tracking funds, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinates "Child Find" marketing and screening activities to identify and evaluate infants and toddlers with potential special needs.
  • Lead the development and timely review of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) to ensure children and families receive required services.
  • Provide oversight and coordination for a full range of early intervention services while maintaining effective working relationships with other agencies.
  • Develop and conduct workshops and in-service training for program personnel, community groups, and medical treatment facility staff.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Early Childhood Intervention Services Coordinator: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as Special Education (with a focus on Early Childhood); Early Childhood Education; Child Development or Human Development; Social Work (MSW); School Psychology: Graduate-level training in school psychology involves assessment, consultation, and intervention for children with developmental and learning challenges. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as Special Education (with a focus on Early Childhood); Early Childhood Education; Child Development or Human Development; Social Work (MSW); School Psychology: Graduate-level training in school psychology involves assessment, consultation, and intervention for children with developmental and learning challenges, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described in A above. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating services for children in an early intervention or special needs program; participating in the development and review of family service plans; gathering program data for administrative reports; and communicating program information to families and staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Special Education (with a focus on Early Childhood); Early Childhood Education; Child Development or Human Development; Social Work (MSW); School Psychology: Graduate-level training in school psychology involves assessment, consultation, and intervention for children with developmental and learning challenges. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
