SR PRINCIPAL, Smart Manufacturing & AI,Procurement & Cost
Main Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Director – SMAI, you will play apivotal role as a cost transformation leader in driving AI-enabled costreduction and improvement initiatives across procurement and manufacturingfunctions. You will work alongside establish a team of I4.0 Leaders, Managers,Analysts & Data Scientists. You will contribute to the design, analysis,and implementation of cost improvement ideas, embedding AI-enabled costsolutions for opportunity identification, value capture and workflow optimisationas standard practice. You will build, prioritise and operationalise a liveportfolio of AI & Generative AI use cases — spanning spend and commodityintelligence, supplier intelligence and contract analytics — that surfacesavings opportunities and convert them into quantified, executive-reportedvalue. You will develop AI & Data Science solutions and work closely withcollaborators to ensure positive impact and balanced results, while applyingindustry-leading methodologies in AI, analytics and automation to improveMicron’s technology development and business processes across the company.
Other Responsibilities:
Procurement & Cost Strategy
- Drive coordinatedsmart manufacturing solutions across Engineering, Procurement, andManufacturing with a focus on cost optimisation.
- Ensure all costtransformation efforts are strategically aligned and contribute measurableimpact to overall financial performance.
Cost Optimisation & Value Capture
- Identify costreduction opportunities using AI-enabled tools and advanced analytics.
- Translateopportunities into actionable initiatives with a clear savings and efficiencyroadmap.
- Establish rigorousbefore/after measurement frameworks covering cost, cycle time, andproductivity.
Execution of Cost Transformation
- Lead and implementcost transformation initiatives to deliver timely and sustainable benefits.
- Collaborate acrossbusiness units to ensure alignment and effective execution of cost-savingmeasures.
AI & Advanced Analytics Enablement
- Apply AI and advancedanalytics to assess cost structures and optimise procurement and operationalworkflows across both cash cost and capital spend.
- Partner with businessleaders to drive the enterprise Procurement & Cost AI roadmap.
- Pilot and scale AI andGenerative AI use cases, embedding them into category managers' and analysts'daily workflows.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Communicate complexstrategies and insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels, ensuringclarity and alignment.
You Are:
Experienced transformation leader with a proven track record of driving enterprise-wide cost transformation, procurement excellence, supply chain optimization, and operational improvement initiatives across global organizations.
Possess a Master's degree (MBA) or equivalent experience, with 20+ years of experience across Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, and Business Transformation functions, including delivery of quantified and executive-reported cost savings and productivity improvements.
Demonstrated success partnering with and influencing senior executives including CEOs, CPOs, business leaders, and global functional stakeholders to drive strategic transformation initiatives.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex business challenges, analytics, and AI-driven insights into actionable recommendations and measurable business outcomes.
Strategic, results-oriented, highly organized, and capable of leading large, geographically dispersed cross-functional teams through change and transformation.
Hands-on experience identifying, developing, piloting, and operationalizing AI, Generative AI, advanced analytics, and digital transformation solutions across procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing functions, delivering measurable cost savings, productivity improvements, and workflow optimization outcomes.
Proven experience building and managing portfolios of AI and analytics use cases involving spend intelligence, supplier intelligence, commodity intelligence, contract analytics, procurement automation, and decision-support tools.
Experience leading smart manufacturing, Industry 4.0, supply chain digitalization, procurement transformation, or related operational excellence initiatives within global industrial, manufacturing, automotive, building technology, or similar industries.
Strong understanding of cost structures, strategic sourcing, category management, should-cost modelling, supplier negotiations, total cost of ownership analysis, and value-capture frameworks.
