Your tasks

As a Head Of Finance Operations in a London Local Authority, you will oversee the day-to-day finance operations within a Public Sector accounting and finance function, helping financial activity run smoothly. You will provide clear operational direction across the team's work while maintaining accurate and timely finance processes.

Description

• Lead the daily delivery of finance operations across the Accounting & Finance department.
• Set clear priorities for finance activities to maintain an organised and reliable service.
• Review financial information to support accurate and timely operational decisions.
• Coordinate finance workloads to ensure key tasks are completed to agreed timescales.
• Maintain effective processes that support consistent financial administration.
• Work with relevant colleagues to resolve operational finance queries and keep work moving.
• Identify practical improvements to finance processes and help implement agreed changes.
• Provide clear updates on finance operations to relevant internal stakeholders.

Requirements

A successful 'Head Of Finance Operations' will have

• Experience overseeing day-to-day finance operations within an Accounting & Finance function.
• Strong knowledge of financial processes and accurate financial administration.
• Ability to review financial information and identify practical actions.
• Experience coordinating competing finance workloads and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to improve processes while keeping daily finance activity on track.
• Clear communication skills for working with colleagues on finance matters.
