Mechanical Fitter

A hands-on Fitter / Welder position responsible for welding, fabrication, mechanical repairs and maintenance across recycling plant and site equipment. You'll play a key role in improving plant reliability, reducing downtime and supporting operational performance in a safety-focused environment.

Description

• Carry out welding, fabrication and fitting work on recycling plant and equipment.
• Repair and replace wear plates, conveyors, guards, chutes, hoppers and structural components.
• Support planned maintenance, reactive repairs and continuous improvement projects.
• Follow permit-to-work systems, isolation's, hot work procedures and safety standards.
• Work closely with engineering, operations and maintenance teams to maximise plant availability.

Profile

• Experienced Fitter, Welder, Fabricator or Maintenance Technician.
• Background within recycling, waste, aggregates, construction, manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Skilled in welding, fabrication, mechanical fitting and repair work.
• Strong understanding of permit systems, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Able to work independently and deliver high-quality, durable repairs.

Job Offer

• Salary of £35,000-£45,000 DOE.
