Department Head - Climate and Seasonal Analysis M/F

Within the Direction de la Climatologie et des Services Climatiques, the agent performs a variety of activities and may be required to carry out the following tasks: Lead the department, ensure the fulfillment of missions, and manage all activities: production, R&D, relations, and external services (including media) Coordinate MF activities in the ACS competence area with the involved directorates (including DIR and DIROM) Under the authority of DCSC/D and its deputies, represent the department, the DCSC, or MF as needed in various bodies Evolve ACS activities according to foresight and MF strategic orientations, respond to calls for tender, supervise actions and projects, write reports, and contribute significantly to communication regarding ACS publications and results Drive the transfer to operational use of innovations in climate analysis (past, present, and future links), seasonal forecasting, and surface hydrology Contribute to the enhancement and communication to the general public of climate monitoring and its evolution

Thus, your missions will be as follows: Management of department resources, including reinforced management for remote agents Regular reporting to the DCSC management Driving changes in practices (training, integration of new tools, new methods) Coordination and improvement of climate monitoring tools and publications Supervision of the establishment's activity for natural disaster and agricultural calamity reports Coordination of R&D activities on new climate monitoring products (data and diagnostics) Improvement of surface modeling and operational seasonal forecasting in connection with the DESR Contribution to C3S projects related to the department's activity (as opportunities arise) Contribution to research programs and the operationalization of seasonal forecasting in connection with our partners Contribution to the Regional Climate Center Europe, including the animation of Seasonal Forecasting (WMO RCC-LRF)
