The MEYER WERFT Group is an internationally active corporate group. It includes our two shipyard locations in Papenburg and Rostock as well as other subsidiaries. As soon as possible, we are looking for several Mechanical Engineers (m/f/d) for our Final Assembly Mechanics department.
Your role:
As a Mechanical Engineer for the Mechanics Department (m/f/d), you bring complex technical systems to life. You assemble, install, and commission demanding machine and plant systems on board our ships, thereby ensuring the smooth operation of the technical equipment. With your specialist knowledge, you analyze and rectify faults, optimize existing systems, and accompany functional tests as well as acceptances. Through your careful way of working, your technical expertise, and your commitment, you contribute significantly to handing over our ships to our customers on schedule and in the highest quality.
The main areas of responsibility are:
- Assembly, installation, and commissioning of machine plants, machine systems, and technical supply systems on board our ships
- Carrying out measurement, testing, and control work, including documentation of the results
- Monitoring, controlling, and optimizing plants with automation and control systems
- Independent analysis, troubleshooting, and rectification of faults in complex technical systems
- Carrying out functional tests, trials, and acceptances of technical plants
- Instruction of customers as well as handover of plants to shipping companies and classification societies
- Participation in the optimization of machine and control systems to ensure smooth plant operation
- Carrying out service and warranty assignments domestically and abroad
- Supervision and technical support of apprentices and interns
- Flexible deployment in various technical areas of the shipyard according to project requirements
What you bring with you:
- Successfully completed at least a three-year vocational training as an Industriemechaniker specializing in machine and system technology, Mechatroniker, or a comparable technical qualification
- Several years of professional experience in the assembly, commissioning, or maintenance of machine and plant systems
- Good English skills for communication in an international project environment
- Sound knowledge in troubleshooting, fault analysis, and optimization of technical plants
- Confident handling of technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and technical documentation
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working as well as a high awareness of quality
- Teamwork skills, flexibility, and willingness to perform national and international service and warranty assignments
