Electronics Technician for Electrical Installation / Commissioning (m/f/d) (Electronics Technician - Industrial Engineering)
Electronics Technician for Electrical Installation / Commissioning (m/f/d)
The MEYER WERFT Group is an internationally active corporate group. It includes our two shipyard locations in Papenburg and Rostock as well as other subsidiary companies. In total, around 5,200 employees work directly for us. Together with this highly qualified network, we build cruise ships, river cruise ships, and special vessels for customers from all over the world, tailored precisely to the respective markets and target groups.
For the earliest possible date, we are looking for an Electronics Technician for Electrical Installation / Commissioning (m/f/d) for our Final Assembly department in the Electrical division.
Your role:
In your role as an electronics technician, you will take on an important function in the final assembly of our shipbuilding process. You will install electrical plants and systems in engine departments, technical rooms, and ship-wide areas and commission them independently or in a team. In doing so, you will measure, test, and document electrical quantities, analyze malfunctions, and resolve errors independently.
You will work on plants with automation, control, and monitoring systems, optimize them, and ensure their safe and reliable function. Furthermore, you will accompany the acceptance of systems with shipping companies and classification societies and instruct customers on operation. Depending on the assignment, you will take responsibility for complete plants or systems, participate in the coordination of work, and support warranty and service assignments – also internationally. In addition, you will pass on your specialist knowledge to apprentices, interns, and external companies and work cross-functionally with other trades.
The main areas of responsibility are:
- Installation of electrical plants, systems, and components in engine departments, technical rooms, and ship-wide areas
- Commissioning, setup, monitoring, and optimization of electrical systems, e.g., automation, control, communication, or lighting systems
- Measuring, testing, and documenting electrical quantities as well as monitoring protective measures and protective devices
- Troubleshooting, analysis of malfunctions, and independent resolution of errors and technical problems
- Testing and documentation of digital and analog inputs and outputs in automation plants
- Preparation, execution, and support during the acceptance and handover of plants and systems to shipping companies and classification societies
- Instructing customers on the operation of technical plants as well as providing services
- Support, optimization, and – depending on qualification – responsibility for complete plants, systems, or modules
- Participation in the coordination and technical management of workflows as well as cooperation with other trades and external companies
- Accompanying warranty and service assignments, also in an international environment
- Support and technical assistance for apprentices and interns
What you bring with you:
- Completed vocational training in the electrotechnical field, e.g., Elektroniker für Betriebstechnik, Industrieelektriker, Mechatroniker, or comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in electrical installation, ideally in an industrial environment or shipbuilding
- Basic English skills to understand technical documentation and to communicate during international assignments
- Ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
- Careful, structured, and responsible way of working
- Willingness to take on responsibility and make independent decisions
What we offer:
- An interesting and diverse task in an internationally active company
- A 35-hour week, 30 days of vacation, and attractive remuneration according to collective agreements
- Flexible working hours and a team-oriented way of working, as well as attractive benefits (e.g., discounted lunch and drinks, company fitness discounts (Hansefit), bike leasing, Corporate Benefits, etc.)
- With us, you will work independently, contribute your own ideas to the team, and thus contribute to our common success.
- An open and respectful corporate culture where we pursue goals together with a strong sense of "we."
- We attach great importance to the compatibility of career and family and, since 2013, together with the German Red Cross as a provider, we operate our company daycare Nautilus with flexible opening hours.
