At the earliest possible date, we are looking for an Equipment Fitter (m/f/d) for our Final Assembly Mechanical department.
Your role:
In your role as an Equipment Fitter for the mechanical area, you will ensure that mechanical assemblies and systems in shipbuilding are installed precisely, safely, and according to the highest quality standards. You will work with technical drawings, bills of materials, and functional diagrams and implement them reliably in production. In doing so, you will prepare components, align assemblies, and assemble demanding equipment and installation assemblies such as mooring, anchor, davit, or crane systems, as well as other complex systems.
The main focuses of the area of responsibility are:
- Safe reading and application of drawings, co-plans, piping systems, bills of materials, diagrams, and planning documents
- Marking out, preparing, and assembling components according to drawings and bills of materials
- Dimensionally and quality-compliant installation of demanding equipment and installation assemblies (e.g., mooring, anchor, davit, crane, outer shell, window washing, lifeline, and loading systems)
- Collaboration in the implementation of design solutions in production
- Carrying out alignment, leveling, and measurement work on assemblies and systems
- Fitting, tack welding, and preparing pipes and nozzles, as well as creating welding, soldering, bonding, and press connections
- Manufacture and completion of racks, frames, housings, and steel structures
- Assembly, supervision, and testing of complex systems, including preparation and execution of trials and acceptances
- Working with drilling and milling devices, flame cutting and welding equipment, grinding machines, hydraulic presses, lifting equipment, and other mechanical tools
What you bring with you:
- Completed three-year vocational training as a Konstruktionsmechaniker specializing in Ausrüstungstechnik
- Several years of practical experience in a technical or industrial environment
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Confident handling of technical drawings, bills of materials, and functional diagrams
- Routine in assembly, fitting, and connection techniques (e.g., welding, pressing, soldering)
- Dimensionally and quality-compliant working in complex production environments
- Cooperative collaboration with colleagues and external partners
