IT Project Engineer
£38,000 - £50,000 | Fareham, Hampshire | Ad hoc local client visits
Enjoy the projects that land on your desk? Want more of them?
Migrating a business to a new Microsoft 365 tenant. Rolling out Intune. Replacing ageing infrastructure.
If that’s the work you enjoy getting stuck into, this could be your next move.
You’ll join a Managed Service Provider delivering IT projects for small and medium-sized businesses. Different customers, different challenges, and the opportunity to see the difference your work makes.
What’s in it for you? Variety across your projects. Cloud, servers, networking and virtualisation, with plenty to keep you thinking. Work with a visible impact. Help customers improve how their technology works and how their people use it. Put your technical skills into practice. Get hands-on with migrations, implementations and infrastructure upgrades. A local base. Based in Fareham, with ad hoc visits to customers across the surrounding region. £38,000–£50,000 , depending on your experience.
What you’ll do
You’ll turn customer requirements into working solutions, handling the technical delivery and keeping people informed along the way.
Typical projects will include: Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations. Azure, Intune and SharePoint implementations and changes. Windows Server upgrades and migrations. Networking improvements and deployments. Virtualisation and infrastructure projects.
Alongside the technical work, you’ll troubleshoot issues, document what you’ve delivered and help customers make a smooth transition.
You’ll also help with ad hoc major escalations that come up from the Service Desk.
What you’ll bring
You might already be a Project Engineer, or a strong 2nd/3rd Line Engineer with hands-on project experience who wants to make delivery a bigger part of your role.
You’ll need: Practical experience delivering IT migrations, upgrades or implementations. A solid grounding in Microsoft 365 and Windows Server, alongside networking and virtualisation. The ability to work through technical problems and take responsibility for getting things working. Clear communication skills. You can explain what’s happening without losing the customer in technical detail. The ability to travel to local customer sites when required.
MSP experience would be useful, particularly if you enjoy working across different customer environments. You don’t need to have delivered every project listed, but you should bring a strong technical foundation and examples of work you’ve helped deliver.
