Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Job Coach to join our team. The successful candidate is responsible for delivering vocational lessons to our students through training of job-specific skills aligned with industry standards. He/She will oversee the vocational programmes, assess, develop and train our students to perform vocational tasks aligned with the expectations of employers and community partners. He/She should engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practices and bring about positive student outcomes.

Your Role as a Job Coach:

Vocational Training and Skills Development

  • Plan and conduct industry-specialized vocational lessons in areas such as F&B, Retail, Logistics/Warehousing and other identified sectors.
  • Train students in job-specific hard skills aligned with industry and soft skills essential in the workplace.
  • Contribute industry expertise to the setup of vocational training environments and develop vocational training materials, task analyses, visual supports and workplace adaptations.
  • Identify students’ vocational interests, strengths, work readiness through collaboration with teachers, allied professionals and relevant stakeholders and support in their vocational development.

Job Support, Coaching and Employer Engagement

  • Conduct jobsite and workplace assessments and facilitate appropriate job matching. Conduct relevant vocational and employability assessments, including SG Enable assessments such as CAF-R, where applicable.
  • Participate in transition planning discussions (including, FEM, ITP), contributing observations and recommendations to students’ post-school planning.
  • Plan and coordinate vocational and job preparation opportunities, including learning journeys, job shadowing, work attachments and internships, and support students with related preparation such as resumes, interview skills and workplace orientation.
  • Coach students at work sites to perform job tasks safely and effectively, using appropriate strategies to develop independence.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers and industry partners, understand their operational needs and workplace expectations and identify suitable opportunities for students. Conduct induction/briefings and engagement sessions to align expectations and support employers. Gather employer feedback on students’ vocational training, job preparation and job-coaching support.
  • Work with employers to establish workplace support and adaptations that promote students’ independence and successful work integration and job retention.
  • Maintain accurate records of vocational assessments, training progress, work exposure, workplace performance and employment outcomes, including job matching and retention.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification, with at least 2 years of hands-on industry experience in one or more relevant sectors such as F&B, Retail, Logistics/Warehousing, Hospitality, Horticulture or other relevant industries.
  • Experience in vocational training, skills instruction, workplace coaching or job coaching will be an advantage. Candidates must be comfortable in conducting practical, hands-on vocational training with students.
  • Advanced Certificate in Supported Employment (ACSE), or other relevant training in job coaching/disability employment, will be an advantage.
  • Experience working with children, youths or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID) and/or other disabilities will be an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; patient, well-organized and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with students, caregivers, school staff and external partners.
  • Able and willing to travel to off-site work and community-based training locations, with the possibility of travelling to more than one location in a day.
  • Able and willing to provide worksite job-coaching support outside regular school hours, including weekends and public holidays, where required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
