CO2 emissions in the real estate sector must be reduced quickly. But what is not measured cannot be controlled in a targeted manner: Our live data on consumption and generation in real estate enables a maximally effective use of electricity, gas, heat, and water in everyday life. We are a young Berlin scaleup that supports sustainability and lives it in our daily business operations. To support our team, we are looking for a Backend Software Developer at the Berlin or Heidelberg location at the earliest possible date.
Tasks
- You design and develop a distributed, reliable backend software platform for our internal processes and data processing.
- You drive the expansion of our platform's functions through strategic feature development and continuous improvement measures, with a focus on the backend.
- You define and implement architecture and infrastructure standards, prioritizing robust and modern technologies and avoiding unnecessary trends.
- You acquire a deep understanding of complex business processes in the German energy market to collaborate with stakeholders from other departments.
- You align specifications and strategy with external frameworks (e.g., product standards, operational constraints, market regulations).
- You acquire comprehensive knowledge of the possibilities and limitations of the German energy market, the specifics of metiundo, as well as integrated external systems.
Profile
- You have a university degree in Computer Science, a related field, or a comparable qualification.
- You have at least 3 years of experience in programming with Kotlin or Java, including the Spring framework and build systems such as Gradle or Maven.
- Complementary experience with Go and/or TypeScript as well as Vue.js is an advantage.
- You have experience in the design and optimization of relational database schemas, especially PostgreSQL.
- You are familiar with Linux, work confidently in the terminal, and are proficient with Git and Docker.
- Fluent English skills in speaking and writing are required; German skills are desirable.
- Plus points: You have already worked with IoT or other hardware-in-the-loop systems and have gained experience in the German energy market.
What we offer you
- A job that creates the foundations for using energy and water sustainably and consciously.
- Permanent employment with a fixed salary between 60 - 70 thousand EUR.
- Flexible trust-based working hours, part-time options, at least two days of mobile working per week, individual training opportunities, and regular feedback meetings.
- Deutschlandticket or Jobrad or Urban Sports membership as well as an office with very good public transport connections.
- A green office, terrace, and free drinks.
- Complete technical equipment.
- 30 days of vacation/year.
- Company pension scheme.
- Family-friendly approach to reporting short-term illnesses of children.
We wish for an open and respectful togetherness in a diverse team! If you want to become part of it, we look forward to your application.
