POWER ELECTRONICS HARDWARE ENGINEER

We are strengthening our power electronics product development and are now looking for a new expert to join our hardware team for design, testing, and verification. In this role, you will design and develop MW-class power electronics converters in close cooperation with control developers, production, and the laboratory.

The position is suitable for someone who has experience or a relevant educational background in power electronics, as well as a desire to deepen their expertise in demanding energy and power grid solutions. For a more experienced professional, the job description can be emphasized according to expertise and interest.

In the job, you will participate in the design and verification of Merus Power's power electronics equipment. You will be responsible, among other things, for the selection, specification, and testing of primary components, as well as the evaluation of device-level performance.

In practice, you will participate in, for example:

• component selection, sizing, and validation
• loss simulations and double pulse tests
• measurements of efficiency, heating, and power quality
• network code, EMC, and safety testing
• laboratory measurements and device-level verification
• cooperation with component suppliers, production, and maintenance

The work combines design, simulation, and practical testing, so you will see the effects of your own work in finished products.

What do we expect from you?

Success is supported by an analytical and systematic approach to work as well as an interest in the practical applications of power electronics equipment. We hope that you have university-level education, for example, in the field of electrical engineering, energy technology, or power electronics. We particularly value studies in power electronics or experience in their practical application.

You can be at the beginning of your career or an expert who has already gained a few years of experience. Your background may relate to, for example, inverters, frequency converters, energy storage, or other power electronics solutions connected to the power grid. We expect you to be able to work in English. Proficiency in the Finnish language is considered an advantage.

Additionally, we value experience in:

• power electronics hardware design or testing
• component selection and sizing
• laboratory measurements and verification
• Matlab, Simulink, or PLECS environments
• Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulations
• industrial energy and power grid solutions
