s Pontypool £13.45 per hour + 15% shift allowance = £15.47 per hour Rotating 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm Paid breaks

Pertemps are currently recruiting Preparation Operatives to join a well-established specialist manufacturing business based in Pontypool.

The company manufactures specialist components and products for the automotive sector, and we're looking for people who enjoy practical, hands-on work to join their busy preparation department.

What will you be doing?

As a Preparation Operative, you'll be responsible for preparing components through a stage-by-stage process before they move onto the next stage of production.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

Sanding down components to the required finish

Drilling holes accurately following specifications

Preparing and finishing components ready for production

Following a clear stage-by-stage preparation process

Using basic hand and power tools

Checking your work to ensure it meets quality standards

Identifying any defects or issues with components

Following work instructions and production specifications

Keeping your work area clean, tidy and safe

Working as part of the wider manufacturing team

This is a hands-on role, so you'll need to be comfortable carrying out practical tasks and working accurately to a set process.

Hours & Shift Pattern

You'll work alternating shifts each week:

Week 1 – 6:00am to 2:00pm Week 2 – 2:00pm to 10:00pm

The shifts then continue to alternate weekly.

What are we looking for?

Previous experience within manufacturing, production, engineering, assembly or another hands-on environment would be an advantage.
