About the position

As an Operating Room Nurse, you care for surgical patients who come from the ward to the OR and undergo the intra-operative phase of their hospitalization. The Operating Room Nurse is expected to instrument, assist, or work as a circulator. Additionally, you accurately maintain the written documentation of the OR.

You participate in preparing the OR, setting up for surgeries, and cleaning after surgeries.

Your contribution

• You document the care provided;
• You assist in the setup for and execution of surgical procedures;
• You provide a surgically clean environment for patient care;
• You instrument, assist, or circulate for various specializations and surgical procedures;
• You maintain a safe environment for the patient.

Job requirements

• You have a valid diploma as an operating room nurse;
• You have at least 2 years of full-time (or 3 years of part-time) work experience in the OR in the past 5 years. At the time of application, you can demonstrate that you have worked in an OR in the past 12 months;
• You must have gained this experience within one of these surgical specializations: general, plastic-reconstructive, gynecology, maxillofacial/ENT, or orthopedics (if possible);
• A valid Basic Life Support certification is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support are optional;
• You have a good oral and written command of English;
• You are familiar with the procedures, standards, and equipment of the operating room;
