About the position

As Coördinator Dagbehandeling Oogheelkunde, you coordinate the daily activities of the ophthalmic surgical team for the pre- and post-operative care of patients on the day of surgery. This position is primarily administrative in nature. You will be involved in preparing patients for surgery and the recovery of patients after surgery.

You coordinate schedules, admissions, and patient flow, from arrival at the quay to discharge procedures. Additionally, you coordinate the routines and activities of the ophthalmic surgical team.

Your contribution

• You maintain contact between the OR and the Teammanager Oogheelkunde to ensure a smooth patient flow;
• You maintain contact with nursing department staff regarding progress and patient care;
• You have an affinity with the specialization of ophthalmology and the associated patient care;
• You are familiar with surgical ophthalmic specializations and the procedures of Mercy Ships;
• You can collaborate and communicate professionally with Managers OK and Surgeons;
• You possess computer skills to maintain the hospital database and statistics;
• You have team-building skills and are willing to lead the team in prayer;
• You possess excellent organizational skills.

Job requirements

• Successful completion of the Mercy Ships Onboarding program is mandatory for a commitment of 12 months or longer;
• A valid Basic Life Support certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support are optional;
