Purchaser (m/f/d)
Mercer Rosenthal is a modern industrial company with around 370 employees and belongs to the North American Mercer International Group. We produce market pulp for further processing in European paper mills and are one of the largest producers of bioenergy in Germany.
To strengthen our central purchasing, we are looking for a committed and experienced Purchaser (m/f/d).
Your area of responsibility
You will take over the independent management of purchasing activities and actively help shape strategic procurement together with the team:
- Operational and strategic sourcing: Processing purchase requisitions through to invoice verification.
- Tenders & negotiations: Planning and conducting tenders as well as proactive negotiation of prices, delivery, and payment terms for the requirements of the purchasing area under your responsibility.
- Supplier and quality management: Building strategic supplier relationships. Active monitoring of deadlines and quality criteria, including the processing of complaints.
- Data maintenance: Responsibility for the maintenance and optimization of supplier and article master data in the SAP system.
- Cost control: Initiating and monitoring measures for cost reduction and process optimization.
Your profile
- Qualification: Completed commercial or technical training, specialist (Fachwirt), or Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: Several years of sound professional experience in purchasing, ideally in an industrial environment.
- IT & Languages: Good SAP (MM) and English skills as well as proficient use of Google Workspace.
- Personality: High sense of responsibility, assertiveness, strong team spirit, and negotiation skills.
- Mobility: Driver's license and willingness to travel between the German Mercer locations.
