Certification Manager (M/F)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an Aeronautical Certification Manager, you are the guarantor of the technical and regulatory compliance of cabin products.

You are at the heart of exchanges between the design office, internal teams, customers, approved design organizations, and authorities.

Your mission begins long before final certification: you intervene from the design stage to ensure that technical choices lead to a certifiable product.

Concretely, you will:

• Analyze customer requirements and applicable certification bases.
• Define the strategy and certification plan for products.
• Exchange and negotiate this strategy with customers' certification teams and DOA CVEs.
• Manage justifications specific to cabin equipment: fire, smoke, toxicity, structures...
• Organize and monitor tests carried out with external laboratories.
• Support the design office from the design phases with a Design to Certify approach.
• Translate regulatory requirements into concrete design choices.
• Write or validate test reports, calculation notes, safety analyses, and declarations of conformity.
• Ensure the transfer of the certified definition to production and quality.
• Evaluate regulatory impacts during design evolutions or modifications.
• Contribute to the maintenance of compliance and product airworthiness.

You are therefore much more than a regulatory specialist: you are the one who bridges the gap between what the regulation requires and what the teams must concretely design.

REQUIRED PROFILE:

You have higher education in aeronautical engineering or a comparable technical field and significant experience in aeronautical certification. You particularly master:

• The Part 21 environment.
• CS-25 requirements, especially those relating to the cabin.
• Fire, smoke, and toxicity issues, notably ABD0031 / FAR / JAR 25.853.
• Structural justification principles.
• Certification processes and relations with DOA/authorities.
• Technical English, both written and spoken.

But the position also requires a true ability to work with others. You know how to: be rigorous without losing sight of project constraints; explain a regulatory requirement to someone who is not a certification expert; defend a technical position without turning every exchange into a tug-of-war; negotiate and find solutions; step back and make trade-offs; work with design, production, and quality teams. Because in certification, knowing how to say "no" is sometimes necessary. But knowing how to explain "how to get to a yes" is even more so.
