As a Lead Product Engineer, you are a central part of MEONDI Frontier Services and, together with us, you shape how we think about and implement new products technically. You bring the technical perspective into important decisions from the very beginning and take responsibility for the consequences of these decisions. In doing so, you do not work in a fully defined role with clearly delimited tasks. You actively help shape the technical side of our product business, set standards, make architecture decisions, and build things yourself. As we successfully scale our products, your area of responsibility will also grow. You combine sound software engineering with a practical understanding of AI products and agentic systems. You know where AI can be used meaningfully, where classic software logic remains necessary, and how both come together to create stable, scalable, and economically viable products.

Additional willingness to travel is required and depends on the respective customer project. Depending on the project, you may work regularly and possibly several days per week on-site at the customer's location. Remote work is fundamentally possible, provided that the respective project and customer requirements allow it. Furthermore, you should be willing to be present at MEONDI regularly, especially in the Stuttgart area, and to participate in internal MEONDI events and community meetings.

Lead Product Engineer (a) Your tasks

• Evaluate technical feasibility: Assess opportunities early regarding architecture, risks, effort, and implementability.
• Take technical responsibility: Translate product specifications into viable technical solutions and make central architecture decisions.
• Develop hands-on software: Build productive software yourself – from frontend to backend and data storage to interfaces and operations.
• Ensure production readiness: Consider stability, scalability, security, DevOps, observability, maintainability, and operations from the very beginning.
• Transfer prototypes into products: Technically classify rapid validations and develop robust, long-term viable systems from them.
• Develop AI-native software systems: Understand where AI is used meaningfully, where classic software logic remains necessary, and how both come together into stable products.
• Further develop AI-supported software development: Practically use modern coding agents and new engineering approaches, evaluate them critically, and integrate them meaningfully into development work.
• Shape engineering standards: Help build architecture principles, tooling, development processes, and quality standards for Frontier Services.

What you bring to the table

• You have a solid track record with software used in production.
• You have already taken responsibility for software and know the requirements that arise from it in real operations.
• You have experience in a product environment or a comparable situation with real skin in the game for the quality, utility, and operation of the software.
• You can independently structure open and incompletely defined problems, develop solution paths, and determine the right next steps.
• You cannot hide behind large teams or narrowly defined tickets, but instead take ownership of the result.
• You possess a strong full-stack understanding and can develop complete applications independently.
• You have mastered the basics of modern software development – from databases, APIs, and architecture to testing, cloud, deployment, security, and operations.
• You have practical experience with LLMs, AI agents, and AI-based applications and understand how these interact with classic software logic.
• You use coding agents and AI-supported development tools productively and can realistically assess their possibilities and limits.
• You combine high quality standards with pragmatism. You avoid both overengineering and short-term solutions whose consequences others must bear later.
• You enjoy working hands-on and validate technical decisions in code and in real systems.
• English: very good, business fluent proficiency.
• German: a clear advantage, but not a requirement.

No specific degree required. What matters is technical judgment, practical experience, and the ability to develop productive software holistically. A technical degree can be helpful, but is not a requirement.
