Description
MEMX is seeking a Network Engineering Intern to learn how the networks behind our U.S. equities and options exchanges are built and supported. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers on hands-on projects and gain exposure to the reliable, low-latency infrastructure that supports trading. This internship position will be offered as hybrid with 2-3 days in-person at our Data Centers in Weehawken and Secaucus and our co-working office in Midtown-NYC.

What You’ll Be Doing
Help the team monitor network performance and investigate alerts and connectivity issues
Assist with network device configuration, testing, and documentation under the guidance of experienced engineers
Assist with data center activities such as racking, network and hardware, running optical fibers, etc.
Contribute to projects involving network tools, automation, and infrastructure improvements
Collaborate with teams across MEMX to understand how network engineering supports the exchange
Requirements
Current undergraduate student entering their junior or senior year, pursuing Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field
Foundational understanding of networking concepts such as IP addressing, routing, and switching through coursework, projects, or personal interests
Interest in troubleshooting and learning how large-scale networks operate
Strong attention to detail and willingness to ask questions and learn from the team
Exposure to Python, Linux, or Wireshark is a plus, but not required
Ability to work in person at our Midtown Manhattan office during the summer
Permanent residence in one of MEMX’s approved states for remote work during the internship

Pay Rate: $30/hourly for undergraduate students
