Inpatient Practical Nurse (PN IPD)

• Care for and assist patients with daily activities and basic care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Maintain patient hygiene, such as sponge baths, hair washing, oral and dental care, and changing clothes
• Measure vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, and record data and report to the nurse when abnormalities are found
• Assist with meals and maintain cleanliness after eating
• Assist patients with excretion, changing diapers, and maintaining cleanliness to prevent infection
• Turn patients to prevent pressure sores and assist with walking/transferring patients according to the treatment plan
• Make beds and maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the patient's bed area and room
• Care for and clean basic medical equipment, including the correct segregation of general waste and infectious waste
• Ensure patient safety and prevent falls
• Respond to Nurse Call signals and coordinate with nurses when patients require assistance
• Prepare equipment for examinations and assist doctors with procedures and medical treatments
• Prepare patients before procedures or surgery, including providing instructions on pre- and post-operative care within the scope of duties
• Prepare and maintain medical equipment/tools to be ready for use and report any issues found to the Charge Nurse
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Completed a Practical Nurse (PN) Certificate, 1-year program Have at least 2 years of work experience in an Inpatient Department (IPD) in a hospital Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) training will be given special consideration Have basic nursing knowledge and skills, such as sponge baths and measuring vital signs Completion of training in surgical patient care or equivalent will be given special consideration Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at a basic level Able to read and speak English at a good level Have good communication and interpersonal skills, with a service mind Able to solve immediate problems and work with a multidisciplinary team Responsible, enthusiastic, and ready to learn and develop oneself Physically healthy, able to stand for continuous work of 6–8 hours, and able to assist in lifting/transferring patients
