Your tasks
- Inspect and diagnose mechanical faults in trucks, buses, and other company vehicles.
- Carry out routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs.
- Repair and replace faulty engine components, braking systems, suspension systems, and other mechanical parts.
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, clutch, and other vehicle-related problems.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to identify faults and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs.
- Ensure that all maintenance and repair work meets the company's safety and operational standards.
- Identify and recommend spare parts required for vehicle repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, and maintenance activities.
- Work with the electrical and other maintenance teams to resolve vehicle-related issues.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Report major mechanical faults and recommend appropriate solutions to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years' proven experience as a Mechanic.
- Relevant technical training, apprenticeship, or trade certification in automobile or heavy-duty vehicle mechanics.
- Practical experience repairing and maintaining trucks and other commercial vehicles.
- Good knowledge of engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension systems, and other vehicle components.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be hardworking, reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work under pressure.
