With headquarters in Innsbruck, Austria, MED-EL has over 3,300 employees around the world. 1 RDER_12610 Clinical Engineer (m/f/d) Research & Development Innsbruck As part of the R&D department, our Electrode Research & Inner Ear Malformations group is dedicated to developing cochlear implant electrodes and optimizing electrode placement and electrical stimulation of the inner ear across the full spectrum of its anatomical variations.

Your Tasks

Analyze pre-operative CT and MRI scans of the temporal bone and inner ear

Identify the cochlear, vestibule, semicircular canals, internal auditory canal, facial nerve canal, round window region and other relevant anatomical structures

Perform manual and semi-automatic segmentation of inner-ear structures

Carry out anatomical measurements and quantitative image analysis

Contribute to the development of tools for standardized inner-ear anatomical classification and cochlear implant planning

Your Profile

Bachelor's degree or higher degree (University, FH) in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Medical Physics, Imaging Science, Computer Science, or a related field

Strong fundamental understanding of medical imaging, particularly CT and MRI

Solid knowledge of CT image interpretation, including windowing, spatial resolution, slice thickness, and voxel dimensions

Familiarity with MRI image contrast, commonly used imaging sequences, and technical documentation in English

Ability to work accurately with complex imaging datasets and communicate effectively in written and spoken English
