The ideal candidate has direct experience managing software development projects, facilitating Agile/Scrum ceremonies, and communicating with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders. This is a highly visible, client-facing role requiring strong verbal communication, sound project management judgment, and the ability to independently drive projects forward.

Key Responsibilities

Software & Technical Project Management

·         Lead software development, automation, integration, and other technical projects from initiation through delivery. ·         Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables. ·         Coordinate work across developers, technical teams, operational stakeholders, vendors, clients, and leadership. ·         Translate business requirements and stakeholder expectations into clear project objectives, priorities, and actionable work. ·         Monitor project execution and proactively address scope, timeline, resource, dependency, and delivery risks. ·         Maintain visibility into project status and ensure stakeholders understand priorities, responsibilities, and next steps.

Agile Project Leadership

·         Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. ·         Partner with technical stakeholders to maintain clear priorities and appropriately structured project backlogs. ·         Track commitments, action items, blockers, and dependencies and drive them through resolution. ·         Adapt project management methodology based on project needs while maintaining appropriate structure, documentation, and accountability. ·         Promote continuous improvement in project planning, estimation, communication, and delivery processes.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

·         Lead project meetings with internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, and external partners. ·         Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, delays, and decisions clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences. ·         Facilitate difficult conversations regarding missed commitments, changing requirements, project risks, and delivery expectations. ·         Provide proactive project updates without requiring leadership follow-up. ·         Ensure decisions, responsibilities, deadlines, and next steps are clearly documented and communicated.

Project Governance & Reporting

·         Track and report project progress, outcomes, and key performance indicators. ·         Partner with leadership to develop and improve Development and Automation project-management standards and KPIs. ·         Maintain accurate project documentation, SOPs, implementation resources, and project records. ·         Identify opportunities to improve project-management processes, workflows, reporting, and cross-functional coordination.

Ownership & Leadership

·         Drive projects forward with a high degree of independence and professional judgment. ·         Anticipate risks and roadblocks and escalate issues early with recommended solutions. ·         Hold stakeholders accountable for commitments and deliverables, including individuals who do not directly report to this position. ·         Build effective working relationships across Development, Automation, IT Services, RCM Services, clients, vendors, and leadership. ·         Model Medbill's Core Values and contribute to a collaborative, accountable, and continuous-improvement culture.

Required Qualifications

·         Demonstrated professional experience directly managing software development, software implementation, automation, or comparable technical projects. ·         Hands-on experience facilitating Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews. ·         Strong working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall project-management methodologies and the ability to apply the appropriate methodology based on project needs. ·         Experience using technical project-management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, MS Project, or comparable platforms. ·         Experience coordinating cross-functional teams that include both technical and nontechnical stakeholders. ·         Strong professional spoken and written English, with the ability to independently lead client-facing meetings and communicate technical project information to nontechnical audiences. ·         Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, priorities, dependencies, and deadlines. ·         Proven success working independently in a fully remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

·         PMP certification strongly preferred. ·         Other recognized project management or Agile certifications, such as PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), PRINCE2, or equivalent. ·         Experience managing SaaS, healthcare technology, workflow automation, systems integration, or software implementation projects. ·         Experience working directly with software developers, QA, product owners, business analysts, or similar technical functions. ·         Experience managing external client or vendor implementations. ·         Familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle management or healthcare technology.

Key Competencies

·         Strong project ownership and follow-through. ·         Excellent verbal communication and meeting facilitation. ·         Client-facing professionalism and confidence. ·         Ability to influence and hold stakeholders accountable without direct authority. ·         Strong organization and prioritization. ·         Critical thinking and problem-solving. ·         Ability to anticipate risks and identify solutions proactively. ·         High attention to detail and accuracy. ·         Collaborative and team-oriented approach. ·         Ability to operate effectively with limited oversight and evolving priorities.

Remote Work Requirements

·         Availability during established Eastern Time business hours. ·         Ability to actively participate in internal and client meetings during core working hours. ·         Reliable home internet and a professional remote working environment suitable for frequent virtual meetings. ·         Ability to maintain consistent responsiveness and availability throughout established working hours.

Success in This Role

Success means becoming a trusted project leader who brings structure, visibility, and accountability to technical initiatives while enabling Development, Automation, Operations, clients, and leadership to work effectively together.

During onboarding, a structured development plan will establish 30-day, 60-day, 90-day, 6-month, and 1-year expectations.

By the end of the first year, a successful Technical Project Manager will:

·         Independently manage multiple software, automation, and technical projects from planning through delivery. ·         Effectively facilitate Agile ceremonies and maintain clear project priorities, commitments, and dependencies. ·         Maintain accurate project plans, timelines, risks, and status reporting. ·         Identify and resolve project risks and roadblocks before they materially affect delivery. ·         Lead effective client and stakeholder meetings with minimal leadership intervention. ·         Establish strong working relationships across Development, Automation, Operations, IT Services, clients, vendors, and leadership. ·         Improve visibility and accountability for project commitments and deliverables. ·         Contribute to standardized project-management processes, documentation, reporting, and performance measures. ·         Consistently demonstrate independent judgment, proactive communication, and ownership of project outcomes.

This Role May Not Be a Fit for Someone Who

·         Has primarily managed operational or administrative projects without direct software or technical project experience. ·         Has studied Agile/Scrum methodology but has limited experience actually facilitating Agile ceremonies. ·         Prefers highly structured daily direction or waits for assignments before identifying next steps. ·         Is uncomfortable independently leading meetings with clients, technical teams, or senior stakeholders. ·         Avoids difficult conversations involving project risks, missed deadlines, or accountability. ·         Prefers individual-contributor work over cross-functional project leadership.

Availability during Eastern Time business hours is required.

Candidate must have a reliable home network and remote working environment.
