Design Engineer

Job Purpose: Design Engineers are responsible for supporting the research, development, and improvement of new and existing products. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs on time and within budget, while ensuring optimal use of available resources.

Job Responsibilities: Support design studies and investigate alternative engineering solutions.

Contribute to developing new systems and processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cost.

Assist in evaluating product usability, safety, and environmental impact.

Use CAD/CAE tools to develop, refine, and validate product designs and prototypes.

Collect, analyze, and interpret prototype test data and recommend improvements.

Modify designs based on testing results and perform re-testing when required.

Analyze and improve existing products, components, and engineering processes.

Prepare technical documentation, reports, and engineering summaries.

Review project specifications, concepts, and development requirements for new products.

Support prototyping, model making, and product testing activities.

Assist in project planning to meet timeline, quality, and budget requirements.

Ensure design compliance with engineering standards, company policies, and customer requirements.

Coordinate technical development activities, schedules, and issue resolution.

Monitor project costs and support control of expenditures within approved budgets.

Follow up on product performance and implement design improvements throughout the life-cycle.

Knowledge: Engineering design principles and standards

Mechanical manufacturing processes (welding, metal forming, etc.)

Product development lifecycle

Safety and environmental design considerations

Technical drawing standards, symbols, and tolerances

Skills: Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)

Technical drawing and interpretation of engineering sketches

Data analysis and prototype testing

Report writing and technical documentation

Project coordination and time management

Communication and presentation skills

Abilities: Work under pressure and meet deadlines

Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Self-motivated, disciplined, and well-organized

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Energy & Renewable Energy, or Aeronautical Engineering.
