WHAT YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE
- Do you want to actively participate in the development of structural components for rocket engines and accompany their tests?
- Do you have relevant experience in FE-based structural design of metallic and ceramic structures?
- Do you have knowledge of the structure-property relationship of materials and want to apply this in the selection of materials and manufacturing methods for structural components for rocket engines?
Perfect! Then this position could be your next career step as a Development Engineer (f/m/d)! Read on…
With your experience, your know-how, and your passion, you can contribute to the following topics and tasks with us:
- Carrying out structural and thermal analysis of propellant sets, isolations, combustion chambers, nozzles, air intakes, and air ducts, as well as special components, involving different materials and manufacturing methods
- Integration of numerical fluid simulations into FE-based models to determine mechanical and thermal loads on propulsion components to be analyzed structurally
- Definition and supervision of tests for material development and characterization
- Interpretation of results and implementation into FE-based models
- Responsibility for the development of components for rocket engines and gas generators in cooperation with the head of the functional group
- Coordination of cross-functional tasks from the areas of design, structural analysis, and fluid analysis
- Technical support of subcontractors in the development and procurement of structural components
- Creation of project documentation in the form of reports, regulations, and presentations, as well as the representation of results internally and externally
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TABLE
- Completed studies in the field of mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials science, or a comparable course of study
- Comprehensive knowledge in structural analysis, including nonlinear, dynamic, plastic, and viscoelastic effects
- Knowledge in thermodynamics, heat, and mass transfer
- Several years of professional experience in the application of FE-based methods of structural mechanics and the assessment of the results achieved
- Knowledge of the structure-property relationship of metallic and ceramic materials as well as conventional and additive manufacturing methods such as SLM, EBM, and WAAM
- Knowledge in the design and model creation of structural components based on different materials and manufacturing methods, such as for example metallic and ceramic structures as well as fiber composite structures
- Experience in model creation and the execution of complex steady-state and unsteady-state numerical fluid simulations is desirable
- Convincing and effective presentation of work results internally as well as before national and international expert committees
- Very good English skills in speaking and writing
- Committed, independent, and systematic way of thinking and working
