UPLIFT Support Staff
Principal
Yio Chu Kang Secondary School
Contract: 1 January to 31 December 2027.
Working hours
Monday to Thursday, 8:00am–5:30pm; Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. Each shift includes a one-hour lunch break. No service on Saturdays, Sundays or gazetted public holidays. Total working time is 42 hours per week after lunch.
Requirements
- Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Youth Work or a related field.
- At least two years of experience working with youths.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and run student engagement activities, including reintegration, The Catalyst Programme and after-school engagement. Develop holiday programmes during school breaks.
- Supervise activities, encourage positive peer relationships and social-emotional skills, track participation and follow up on non-participation with school staff.
- Mentor identified students in goal-setting, academic progress and social-emotional learning, working with teachers-in-charge.
- Prepare activity resources and involve students in maintaining a suitable after-school engagement room.
- Gather student feedback, evaluate programmes each term and report participation, progress and impact. Ensure activities follow the school’s code of conduct.
- Work with school personnel to provide follow-up support and connect students to community resources. Assist related school-wide initiatives.
- Review the programme at year-end and recommend improvements.
